I agree about noticing odd symptoms ... in fact I really want to further check out my shoulders. The pain switches back and forth between them. And it has been there (despite weekly massage and a new bed) for several years. I have known OA in one knee, but am also wondering if I should have some baseline imaging done for them too.

Anyway ... thanks so much for the welcome!

Hi RAinPA! I'm Wren, and I'd like to welcome you into this small but ever growing circle of blog friends who have RA and other autoimmune diseases. We're a pretty upbeat bunch, but we all willingly offer shoulders to cry on, too. RA is definitely a challenge.

I just finished reading "What To Do When the Doctor Says it's RA." I've read many books about the disease over the years, but this one was by far the most informative, written in laymen's terms but without simplifying too much. I got it on Amazon after reading Kelly's (RA Warrior) review, and it was well worth the money.

Funny how a lot of us noticed symptoms of RA long before we finally went to the doc with them. I remember wondering how I'd managed to sleep wrong on my shoulder -- again -- and how I'd managed to hurt my hand -- again. Each time there was no good reason for the pain and swelling, but I tried to rationalize one. It never occured to me, in my wildest dreams, that I might have rheumatoid arthritis.

Well. So much for that.

Anyway, again, welcome. I'm looking forward to reading your posts as you learn about RA -- and offer my support and empathy.
